Yes. Kate needs a an external source, and she’s probably sitting on the largest extenal source of magic floating around. 🙂 Wonder if she can tap into it like she can her jewelry; maybe quick-charge them if she can’t access the island.

They should charge faster, but so should everyone else, her advantage is that she can be efficient with it.

Turning on the water works might result in him putting a hand on his shoulder in pity though. That’s the farthest thing from what she wants.

To be fair she doesn’t know much about his powers. She didn’t know he could suppress them at all. She deduced he needs to touch them but she likely doesn’t know its passive.

I wonder if Phil touches Death if it will be a similar reaction to what happened with….. Emi?, the Magi of Power. IIRC Power’s personality was in control for a bit but when Phil touched her Emi’s own regained control. I guess a good couple of questions for that is “is there anything left of the original personality when Life & Death take over? and “How long have Life & Death inhabited their current bodies?”

i think it depends on if they have a bloodline like Emi’s family, or if they just Snatch bodies with the right affinities from other magical bloodlines.(i’d wager the latter is more likely given the apparent “time limit” Deaths bodies have)

I suspect she’ll feel a bit more healthy, in a way she hasn’t felt in years.

I’d say its more arrogance in not thinking about surges of magical energy. Because obviously you’ll always have your power under your complete control. Then someone goes and throws some loose magic into your spell, one sneeze later and Manhattan is now occupied by psychotic gnomes.
