Perhaps the opposite in fact – Phil will ONLY be a significant threat to her if he feels those he cares about are threatened – otherwise, he is going to be opposed to hurting her?
You know, I’m not the best with interpreting peoples feelings, but I think, maybe, possibly, Death is a little sore towards the Null. Just spitballing here, dunno what might give me that impression.
May be the way she styled her hair, some people can be quite descriptive with subtle expressions like that.
I am assuming the Null was specifically created by the Elements to counter Death, which would explain her hatred of him…

I think death and possibly life don’t realize that phil is the previous null’s successor. I wonder if phil’s theory about them is only wrong since they don’t realize how much has changed.
Ok so that about conferms it. That is the element talking. The things she mentions arnt memories of human hosts. The twin candidates were almos all stillborn or died in infancy if I remember right. So the element had no eyes or ears most of the time. Just waiting on a host but losing it instantly. So the null is much more a threat to her as it will give the host control. It also explains the whole memories thing, they all are the same being, not just inherited.

So now we see if Death is smart. If she realizes that trying to take away the life the current Null/Phil has will just work to make him into the enemy she faced before.
Death’s last statement could be taken as either “I might have found a weakness to exploit” or “I may need to reconsider my life choices” or anything in between the two.
